3 Things That Helped Me Live My New Normal

So it's been two full months since I returned to the office after having worked at home full-time. I can honestly say it's been a very interesting process. I was overwhelmed and worried at first, as mentioned in my previous post, but now that I've built the new habit, it's not so bad. I'm living my new normal, and I want to talk about the things that have helped me throughout the process.

I'm practicing gratefulness.

Every day, I count my blessings. I'm grateful that I can work in the office and work from home, and I'm grateful that I'm healthy. I noticed that ever since I started doing this, it's helped me physically and mentally. I want to encourage those who are having a hard time to try this. Start by doing short meditation sessions, practicing proper breathing, and try to bring some positivity during these challenging times.

I made new (online) friends.

I've been actively involved with a small group of new friends that have helped me. We play the same video game together and bonded through it, as well as through personal stories. It's important to reach out and share, so you know that you're not alone. Meeting my new group of (online) friends during the new normal has helped me feel better, and realize this isn't just happening in my city.

Finally, I try my best every day.

I try my best at work, I try my best at home, but I also try my best to give myself a break. It's so, so important right now to try your best, but also take a step back and remind yourself that there's a lot going on right now, and it's normal to be overwhelmed. So far, this is working really well for me!
